What if my Wedding is next year or later?
It's never too early to find your dress! Normally, we wouldn't start alterations until 3–4 months before the big day — but this deal is too good to pass up. We'll simply stretch your alterations timeline out further, so you're not waiting around. Plus, that work needed to happen eventually anyway — now you just get to check it off early!
What if I don't have my shoes yet
No problem — you'll have a week before your first alterations appointment to find them, or at least settle on a heel height you're committing to. Just bring in any shoe with that same heel height for your appointment, and continue your shoe search from there. As long as the heel stays consistent, you're all set!
How long will the Alterations process take?
It really depends on the work needed, but with this sale, we'll typically stretch the process out over a 6–9 month period. We'll go over all the details at your first fitting and build a schedule that works best for you.
What if I'm trying to lose weight?
We'll hold off on taking in the sides for as long as possible. And if the sides do end up needing to be redone down the line, remember — you only paid $1 for the dress, so you're still coming out ahead! The good news is that shoulder straps, hemming, and the bustle aren't affected by weight changes, so those alterations can be done anytime.
How much do Alterations cost?
It really depends on the dress. A simple column-style hem is a very different job than a ballgown with seven layers of lace — though sometimes a "simple" column dress surprises us with a horsehair braid that adds its own complexity! As a general guideline, we tell people to plan for around $500, though it can come in lower or higher depending on the dress — and any custom work will add to that as well.
Can I put a dress on hold if I'm not ready to commit today?
Since this is first come, first served, we're not able to hold dresses. If it's the one, we'd recommend paying your dollar and securing it before it's gone!
What if I need to reschedule my alterations appointment?
We allow one reschedule, pushed out one additional week. If you're still not able to make it, the dress goes back on the rack — but don't worry, if it's still there when your schedule settles down, you're welcome to come back and pay your dollar again!
Can I still customize my dress — add sleeves, change the neckline, add embellishments?
Absolutely! Custom work is available and priced in addition to your standard alterations. And even after your alterations are complete, if you decide down the road that you'd like to add something extra, just bring your dress back in and we'll take care of it then.
Do I need an appointment to try on the $1 dresses?
Nope — it's walk-ins only during our normal business hours! We do have just two fitting rooms reserved for these dresses, so weekends may come with a bit of a wait. We recommend coming ready to be a little flexible.
Is this a one-time event, or ongoing?

Do I still pay for alterations, or is that included in the $1?
The dress is $1 — alterations are priced separately, based on the work your dress needs. A full pricing guide is available to look over in-store once you've found your dress.
